YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY
The Civil Engineer, Latin America will provide expertise and technical support to the implementation of resilient housing projects in Latin America. This includes housing evaluations and retrofitting designs, calculations and budgets, construction supervision, training to partners, construction workers and homeowners as well as support in the development of engineering resources and technological tools and solutions.
Reporting to the Lead Engineer, Latin America , the Civil Engineer, Latin America will play a pivotal role in guaranteeing timely program delivery with quality and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support and expertise in resilient housing projects: Lead the creation and/or review structural and architectural designs, construction quantities, checklists, training materials, and digital tools to meet project and partner needs.
- Deliver Capacity Building and Technical Assistance: Provide targeted training and ongoing technical support to engineers, builders, architects, designers, apprentices, field staff, partner organizations, construction workers and homeowners, both in-person and remotely.
- Develop and Apply Engineering and BIM Solutions: Build and maintain deep expertise in Build Change’s engineering and BIM resources, applying them to confined masonry, structural reinforcement, and retrofitting solutions for informal housing in Latin America.
- Oversee Structural Intervention Activities: Monitor and guide on-site and remote construction processes, resolving technical challenges promptly and ensuring adherence to Build Change’s technical, administrative, and legal standards.
- Report and Support Organizational Priorities: Prepare project reports and contribute to other tasks aligned with Build Change’s mission, as assigned by leadership.
Must-Haves
- Educational Background: Civil Engineering. Must have a professional licence to work in Colombia.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a civil engineer, with 2 of those years of specific experience in structural design.
- Proficiency in engineering software and BIM: Experience using structural modeling and analysis software, specifically Revit and Robot Structural Analysis or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Based in Bogotá, Colombia.
- Sector-Specific Knowledge: Experience in informal housing and small buildings, retrofitting, green/sustainable construction, climate change adaptation and mitigation.
- Experience working with communities: Background working with communities or in social projects.
- Previous experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

As a Civil Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role involves coordinating with project teams, managing materials and documentation, inspecting work progress, resolving technical issues, and supporting project handover processes.
About Your Team
This role sits within the Operations Department and reports directly to the Site Manager. The department is responsible for the daily business activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and smooth workflow across all functions. It focuses on process improvement, resource optimization, and timely service delivery.
Your Role
As a Site Engineer, you will:
- Ensure site works comply with contract specs, quality, and safety standards.
- Prepare material submittals and track approvals.
- Develop method statements and risk assessments.
- Monitor procurement schedules and follow up on deliveries.
- Control approved drawings and as-built documentation.
- Inspect works, raise inspection requests, and coordinate with site teams.
- Report progress, delays, and site issues to senior management.
- Support testing, commissioning, and project close-out documentation.
- This role is full time and follows a Monday to Saturday work week, typical for project-based positions in our industry
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years of project site experience, ideally within construction or Data Center Solutions environments.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Engineering degree (Mechanical / Electrical) with ≥ 10 years’ site experience.
- Solid understanding of contract specifications, QA/QC, HSE and programme controls.
- Proven ability to manage materials, documentation and productivity on fast-track projects.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and pressure-handling skills; proactive mindset.
- Familiarity with BIM-enabled field tools or Lean construction principles.

The ideal candidate will be a Professional Engineer with experience in Engineering and Wireless Telecom. This role involves the structural engineering design of wireless communication projects, including new and existing building structures, non-building structures, and non-structural components. Responsibilities include preparing formal reports, calculations, and analyses, determining structural requirements with project design team members, clients, contractors, building officials, and other consultants. The candidate will also provide quality control review of engineering services performed by other engineers.
Functions
- Perform structural and mount analysis and design for existing and new building structures, non-building structures, and non-structural equipment, including their respective anchorage, foundation elements, and mount design.Design modifications for tower reinforcing, extensions, and foundations.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with A&E Project Managers, Drafters, Senior Engineers, Clients, Building Officials, Contractors, and other External Consultants.
- Prepare engineering reports and documents communicating engineering results.
- Review Quality Assurance - Quality Control (QA-QC) and final review on structural analysis reports and drawings.
- Assist with construction administration activities, including field surveys and shop drawing or RFI coordination.
- Perform site visits and prepare field reports to document existing site conditions.
- Answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Coordinate with building officials and other jurisdictional entities to demonstrate code compliance for obtaining all required building permits and governmental approvals.
- Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety requirements.
- Domestic and International travel as required.
- Perform other engineering duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering; master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of structural engineering experience with wireless telecommunications or broadcast towers preferred.
- P.E. License with the ability to obtain multi-state licensure as required.
- Civil or Structural Engineering License is a plus.
- Technical communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Self-driven with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a group, utilizing resources as required to complete engineering tasks successfully.
- Knowledge of codes and specifications: IBC, TIA-222, ASCE, etc.
- Proficiency in common engineering software programs: tnxTower, Risa 3D, mathcad, and Enercalc.
- Experience in developing construction documents and performing Mount Analyses and Structural Analyses or Assessments for Monopoles, towers, tanks, buildings, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD drafting/modeling software preferred.
- Knowledge of engineering design principles with various materials such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, and applicable design guides and standards.
- Familiarity or experience with steel shop fabrication processes and/or knowledge of fabrication shop tools and capabilities is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite products such as MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability to work within a team environment with individuals from various offices and disciplines through all phases of design.
- Knowledge of construction practices and principles.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.

Requerimientos
- De 3 a 5 años de experiencia en ingeniería estructural en telecomunicaciones inalámbricas o torres de radiodifusión.
- Licencia P.E. con la capacidad de obtener la licencia multiestatal según se requiera.
- Se valorará positivamente la licencia de ingeniería civil o estructural.
- Habilidades de comunicación y documentación técnica.
- Capacidad de organizar y priorizar tareas para cumplir los plazos.
- Autonomía y capacidad para trabajar con eficacia de forma independiente o como parte de un grupo, utilizando los recursos necesarios para completar con éxito las tareas de ingeniería.

Uptalent is seeking a talented and experienced Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resources Design to join our team. As a Civil Engineer at Uptalent, you will work on exciting projects for some of the most innovative companies in the world. You will use your expertise to design and implement water resources systems for clients across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and modeling of water resources systems and infrastructure for clients
- Provide expert analysis, design, and consultation for water resources projects
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and U.S standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project goals
- Continuously improve and refine water resources designs and systems
- 1) Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in water resources project design and implementation
- Expertise in water resources system design and management
- 2) Technical skills:
- AutoCAD Civil3D experience with plan and profile work, pipe networks and general understanding of earthwork and grading (AutoCAD surfaces)
- Sewer Linear work & pump station design experience
- Stormwater modeling experience not mandatory but appreciated
- Hydrology and hydraulics experience is a plus.
- Sample programs may include: Hec-Ras, Hydraflow, Hec-HMS, SWMM

**Job Description**
AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team has an immediate opportunity available for a Sr Civil Engineer - Hydraulics & Plumbing for employment in Bogota, Colombia.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Lead the design and development of foul drainage systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
+ Design and optimize hot and cold water piping systems for large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
+ Design pumped drainage systems, rainwater drainage, and rainwater harvesting systems.
+ Design and integrate greywater recycling systems into existing and new infrastructure projects.
+ Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) to enhance environmental performance and sustainability.
+ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hydraulic designs are integrated seamlessly into overall project plans.
+ Prepare and present detailed technical reports and design documentation to stakeholders.
+ Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ Experience in hydraulic engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects and large surface buildings.
+ Proficiency in software such as EPANET, Revit MEP, or similar tools .
+ Strong understanding of local and international plumbing and drainage standards.
+ Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Preferably 8 years of experience
+ Master's degree in a related field.
+ Experience with sustainable design practices and technologies.
+ Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
+ Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing engineering teams.
