Join a winning team responsible for driving the Latin American treaty reinsurance business into the next dimension. Based in Bogota, you will strengthen our existing regional platform and coordinate closely with our local underwriting and actuarial teams, and also with claims/accounting.
As Senior Actuarial Analyst you should have moderate experience in the insurance sector, and at AXA XL you will learn to price treaties, apply standard methodologies and support the Underwriters in the region to take data-driven decisions. The team performs treaty account pricing, tool development, and line of business research. You will have the opportunity to work in a regional team of pricing actuaries while collaborating with underwriters, cat modelers, claim experts and reserving actuaries.
What will your essential responsibilities include?- Your focus will be on supporting our portfolio in Latin America across several lines of business (Property, Casualty, Accident & Health, Marine). The role will be flexible, and, over time, you should gain experience within other business lines and other international markets. You will also be working with actuaries and underwriters from across International Re (e.g. product experts based in Europe).
- We expect the role to be based in Bogotá, but the candidate may need to travel to other AXA XL Re offices from time to time.
- Assist underwriters with treaty review/analysis during the renewals, by either carrying out the pricing directly or ensuring that the pricing is carried out using approved pricing models appropriately, depending on the complexity of the business and the guidelines in force for that region / line of business.
- Help to ensure consistency of approach and, where appropriate, make suggestions for improvement.
- Make recommendations to use technology as efficiently as possible in various ways, such as the continual development/improvement of our suite of treaty pricing models, or the streamlining of our management information.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other actuaries across our region, International Re, and with actuaries in other regions. You will also interact with the actuarial reserving team as needed.
You will report to the Senior Actuary AVP responsible for Latin America Reinsurance.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:- Moderate experience in Actuarial Insurance/Reinsurance areas.
- Bachelor’s degree or better in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent.
- Keen to pursue the path to becoming a qualified actuary, with a recognized international Actuarial organization. Successful completion of CAS or SOA exams is a plus.
- Very good command of English and Spanish. Working knowledge of a second language, such as Portuguese, would be preferable, but is not a pre-requisite.
- An ability to code in R, Python (or a similar programming language) would be very valuable.
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize issues and work effectively under pressure. Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude, dedication and sense of urgency.
- Team player, highly motivated and open-minded.
- Comfortable taking ownership for own work and identifying the need for action.
Able to communicate effectively, explaining complex/specialist matters to team members, and more senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute the monthly Actual vs. Expected (AvE) analysis for a designated book of business
- Investigate and interpret the drivers of deviations between actual reported losses and expected losses based on models and prior analyses
- Support monthly financial bookings, ensuring reserve adequacy and accuracy
- Participate in the quarterly reserve review process to update ultimate loss and ULAE estimates
- Collaborate with other actuarial and finance teams to communicate key findings and insights
- Ensure transparency and reproducibility of work through clear documentation and automation where possible
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in reserving or property & casualty insurance
- Strong command of actuarial reserving concepts and techniques
- Proficiency in SQL and either R (preferred) or Python for data manipulation and analysis
- Progress towards actuarial designation with the CAS (minimum of 3 exams passed preferred)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and explain findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Prior experience with personal lines insurance

Purpose of the consultancy:
The overall objective of the consultancy is to develop training materials for a Gender-Sensitive Data Analysis Workshop and to facilitate the workshop.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Advanced university degree, at least a Master’s degree in statistics, data science, social work, public health.
- Additional training in gender data analysis, data management, ethics, and research methods would be valuable assets.
- At least 5 years of proven experience working on data analysis and gender issues.
- Fluency in both English and Mongolian is required for both writing and speaking. (Mongolian for effective communication with relevant partners, facilitation of training and English for accessing international best practices, resources and communicating with UNFPA APRO experts and UNFPA Mongolia).

In security risk management we're looking to harness the power of industry best practice combined with driving new innovation on how we do security risk assessments and modelling. Our security risk management team is the primary owner of the strategy and practices of how we identify, track and reduce our security risk across everything we do.
To support this we need to use industry best practices paired with emerging threat information to to promote risk identification, quantification, impact analysis, and modelling to ultimately drive decision making. In this role, you will help establish and execute a broad strategic vision for the security risk program at Canonical. You will not only work within the team but also cross-functionally with various teams across the organisation. The team contributes ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users subject to cyber attacks. Additionally, the team collaborates with our Organisational Learning and Development team to develop playbooks and facilitate security training across Canonical.
The security risk management team's mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem. They might share knowledge through public presentations and industry events, and share threat intelligence with the wider community or represent Canonical in sector-specific governance bodies.
What you will do in this role:
- Define Canonical's security risk management standards and playbooks
- Analyse and improve Canonical's security risk practices
- Evaluate, select and implement new security requirements, tools and practices
- Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical security risk management practice
- Develop Canonical security risk learning and development materials
- Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change
- Participate in developing key risk indicators, provide inputs to the development of key control indicators, and key performance indicators for various programs

Job Description
Overview
The primary responsibility of the Manager, Risk Management is to provide support to the Mastercard Customer Risk Management (CRM) team, including its risk managers and senior leaders to help manage Mastercard's CRM function globally by being the team's liaison for new initiatives (e.g., products, services, acquisitions) which may impact Mastercard's risk exposure at a global level.
Mastercard has approximately $77B in credit exposure to financial institutions and other counterparties worldwide, placing the CRM's role as a key part of its evolving and quickly growing business model, with new services, products and acquisitions taking a critical role in the company's expansion. The magnitude and strategic nature of this exposure necessitates periodic engagement with senior management, Mastercard's sales, franchise, and product organizations as well as our customers (issuers, acquirers, etc.). This provides great opportunities to learn and grow your career within Mastercard.
Role
The primary responsibility is to support the CRM team to ensure customer risk is appropriately assessed, managed, and mitigated in accordance with Mastercard's policies & procedures and risk appetite framework. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Participate in the global product review process, being CRM's liaison for new services, products and M&A activity which may impact CRM at a global level.
- Be responsible to follow projects through, ensuring that credit risk is taken into consideration and is top of mind for the business teams.
- Set up the framework for the CRM team to incorporate such new initiatives to the team's BAU routine.
- Certify a smooth transition to the CRM team BAU process once new initiatives become live.
- Cooperate with regional leads (CRM VPs) to ensure both global and regional initiatives are well mapped and accounted for.
- Project manage/coordinate with relevant teams on controls and enhancements necessary to accommodate new initiatives within CRM's risk standards and Mastercard's risk appetite.
- Participate in various process improvement initiatives and sharing best practices.
- Propose Policy and Procedures updates based on feedback collected from new global initiatives.
The role will require strong credit risk background, a good understanding of Mastercard's business model, systems and tools and usage of various data sources relevant for the customer risk management function.
All About You
- Postgraduate degree in business, economics, econometrics or equivalent.
- Experience in leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in credit risk assessment and financial statements analysis; experience in / knowledge of the banking sector.
- Accuracy, self-drive, accountability and sense of urgency.
- Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.
- Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint user.
- Positive attitude, strong work-ethic, and good sense of humor.
