About The Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Specialist to lead workplace safety and compliance for our shared services startup operation in Colombia. This role will ensure the organization aligns with national occupational health and safety (OHS) standards while building a safe, risk-aware culture from the ground up. As the key liaison between internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, you will design, implement, and monitor health and safety initiatives using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
Ensure full compliance with Colombia’s occupational safety laws and standards, including those set by the Ministerio de Trabajo, ARL, and other applicable authorities.
Maintain and update documentation in line with the Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SG-SST) framework.
2. Program Development & Implementation
Develop and implement workplace health and safety programs tailored to the needs of a growing startup in a shared services model.
Create safety manuals, emergency response plans, risk assessments, and ergonomic guidelines specific to office-based operations.
3. Performance Tracking via SMART Metrics
Define and monitor SMART goals such as:
Specific: Reduce workplace incidents by 25% in 12 months.
Measurable: Track incident frequency rate (IFR) and risk mitigation timelines.
Achievable: Conduct 100% of mandatory safety training for all employees within 3 months of hire.
Relevant: Align H&S initiatives with business continuity and employee wellness strategies.
Time-bound: Conduct quarterly safety audits and submit compliance reports within 30 days.
- Lead, Maintain and execute the full scope for H&S duties and system, to be compliant but also coordinating with third parties to achieve it (ARL, Broker) (100% on ARL diagnose)
- Reports and be aligned with headquarters about compliance, and execution over H&S system
- Conduct H&S audits and manage legal documentation (HR Compliance Audit Score: ≥95%).
4. Training & Engagement
Design and lead health and safety training sessions, drills, and workshops to improve awareness and preparedness.
Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees and managers in preventive actions and risk identification.
5. Auditing & Reporting
Conduct internal audits and workplace inspections; identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on HSE performance and present findings to senior leadership and external auditors when required.
6. Risk & Incident Management
Lead investigations for accidents or near-misses, ensuring root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.
Serve as point of contact for emergency response coordination.
7. Cross-Functional Liaison
Work closely with HR, Facilities, Legal, and IT departments to embed health and safety protocols in all operations.
Coordinate with local vendors, contractors, and regulators to align on safe practices and compliance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
Certifications: Valid professional certification in Occupational Health & Safety in Colombia (e.g., COPASST membership, SENA certifications).
Experience:
3–5 years in a health & safety role, ideally within a shared services or startup environment.
Proven experience implementing SG-SST or equivalent safety management systems.
Language Skills: Bilingual – Spanish (native) and English (intermediate to advanced) for effective reporting and global coordination.
Key Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of Colombian health & safety legislation
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Analytical mindset with focus on performance tracking (using SMART goals)
Excellent communication and training capabilities

Join our Safety Department – Training Provided
A US based trucking company is seeking an experienced mechanic with strong knowledge of semi-trucks and trailers to join our Safety Department in Bogotá. This role is office-based and ideal for a mechanic ready to transition into safety and compliance.
Purpose of the Position:
Use your technical background in truck and trailer mechanics to support the company’s Safety Department. Safety training will be provided — what matters most is your hands-on experience with trucks .
Requirements:
- Proven experience working on semi-trucks and trailers (diesel engines, suspensions, brakes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems).
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience in heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Ability to analyze and discuss technical issues with drivers and repair shops.
- Office and computer skills are an advantage (training provided if needed).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret truck and trailer inspection reports.
- Identify mechanical issues and support preventive action plans.

You will be responsible for:
- Proactively identify and address safety risks to ensure the smooth and secure delivery of services while prioritizing the well-being of employees, customers, and the community.
- Coordinating and delivering new processes and updates in the operation with the BPOs.
- Provide training sessions and workshops to employees on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and best practices.
- Develop corrective action plans and follow up to ensure operational issues are addressed promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, near misses, and corrective actions taken. Prepare reports on safety performance metrics, trends, and compliance status for management review.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate safety procedures and practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, and facilities management, to ensure a holistic approach to safety management.
- Lead and develop the BPO partner to continuously improve Service performance, quality metrics, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with the BPO manager to oversee daily operations. Improve site daily operation quality by setting up a mechanism to optimize identified issues and resolve urgent problems.
- Manage the vendor’s performance to ensure they provide the service safely, authentically, and efficiently.
- Identify, monitor, and articulate reporting requirements, including targets, specific data, anticipated outcomes, and other key performance indicators.
- Strong data analysis skills to leverage data effectively to drive informed decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and enhance safety outcomes within the organization.
- Be responsible for workforce planning to match business changes and needs.
- Collaborate with process, training, and quality assurance experts to develop and deliver safety training programs to employees (new hires and existing team members) in the Contact Center, ensuring they are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
- Promote an employee-centric culture that encourages employee satisfaction and engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2-4 years of contact center team management experience, BPO operation manager role or above, has independent account management experience or other similar leadership experience is required.
- Experience in managing a remote team is preferred.
- Must have the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective communication and success of key initiatives.
- Experience in Critical incident handling is preferred.

As a Safety Reporting Specialist, you will be responsible for receipt, submission, and subsequent tracking of expedited and periodic safety reports pertaining to the department's projects. You will assist management in producing project metrics as required. You will also be involved in projects and programs relating to safety reporting and may take a lead role on projects.
A day in the Life:
- Receives, prepares and submits safety reports to applicable parties. Escalates to lead and/or line manager if any issues are encountered. Ensures reports are submitted in compliance with regulatory timelines and country legislation.
- Assists in producing metrics and alerts manager to any quality or timeline issues.
- Participates on project teams and may lead projects of small to moderate scope. Provides training and support to other team members.
- Performs administrative tasks such as filing and the maintenance of safety reporting systems and information.
- Liaises with various departments around safety reporting tasks and the setting up of client accounts.
- Participates in audits where required and performs testing activities as needed.
- Shares ideas and suggestions with team members ensuring effective communication and participates in process improvement initiatives.

Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Experience
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years')
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills and solid understanding of safety database functionality
- Solid knowledge of procedural documents and working knowledge of global safety reporting requirements (including FDA regulations and guidelines)
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with orientation toward careful and meticulous work
- Possess the maturity to handle sensitive information and data effectively
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Experiencia en control de calidad o producción en la industria alimentaria. Mínimo de 3 años de experiencia relacionada, preferiblemente en la industria alimentaria o en restaurantes de comida rápida. Experiencia en calidad en plantas de alimentos. Gestión precisa, oportuna y eficiente del proceso de revisión de los procedimientos operativos del mercado de LAC, incluida la revisión de ingredientes. Desarrollar un conocimiento profundo, sus marcas, estándares y políticas y requisitos regionales y poder aplicar este conocimiento en todo el proceso de revisión. Completar las revisiones de los procedimientos operativos de seguridad alimentaria del mercado de LAC y las revisiones de ingredientes en consonancia con las regulaciones sanitarias globales y regionales y las normas y políticas de seguridad alimentaria.
Requisitos
Licenciatura en Ciencias de los Alimentos, ingeniera de alimentos, microbiología de 2 a 5 años de experiencia.
Capacitación certificada en HACCP. Se requiere experiencia en control de calidad o producción en la industria alimentaria.

Como Ingeniero Senior en Confiabilidad/Instrumentación crítica para la seguridad - Operaciones y mantenimiento en Worley, tendrás un papel fundamental como experto en la materia (PYME), su experiencia será crucial para colaborar con los usuarios finales en el desarrollo de planes de inspección, pruebas y mantenimiento preventivo líderes en el sector para todo tipo de activos de instrumentación.
- Garantizar que el alcance del proyecto sea claro y que los cambios cumplan con los procesos de gestión de cambios del proyecto.
- Participar en reuniones relevantes, preparar informes de progreso y seguir los procedimientos de verificación requeridos.
- Elaboración y revisión de documentos de ingeniería como Listados de instrumentos/señales/cables/materiales, hojas de datos, arquitecturas y filosofías de control, narrativas de control, etc.
- Comunicarse de manera efectiva con el equipo interdisciplinario de ingeniería y las partes interesadas del proyecto, incluido el Cliente.
- Identificar problemas, desarrollar soluciones apropiadas y solicitar asistencia cuando sea necesario.
- Mantenerse actualizado con los últimos desarrollos e innovaciones técnicas en Instrumentación y Control.
Lo que traerás
- Contar con un nivel experto de competencia en confiabilidad de instrumentación crítica para la seguridad y conjuntos de válvulas automatizadas, con experiencia de campo en instalaciones operativas.
- Poseer o estar dispuesto a obtener una certificación válida en Seguridad Funcional (IEC-61511) emitido por uno o más de los siguientes programas Exida (CFSP/CFSE), ISA(SFS), TÜV Rheinland (FSEng), TÜV SUD (FSP).
- Experiencia mínima de 9 años en cargos similares en operaciones y mantenimiento, preferiblemente en los sectores de refinado o procesos petroquímicos.
- Contar con conocimientos del ciclo de vida de SIS, por ejemplo, verificación y cálculos de SIL. SRS, FSMP, procedimientos de mantenimiento de SIS.
- Conocimientos de IEC-61511, IEC-61508, ISA TR84.00.02, ISA TR84.00.03, ISA TR96.05.01, así como de otras normas y buenas prácticas relacionadas.
Requerido:
- Profesional en Ingeniería Electrónica, Automatización, Instrumentación y Control o afines.
- Contar con nivel de inglés Intermedio-Avanzado (B2 / C1.)
