The Project Management Officer (PMO) is a strategic leader responsible for high-level project planning, resource management, and cross-departmental collaboration. By providing structure and oversight to the project management process, the PMO ensures that projects are planned, resourced, and executed effectively, bridging the gap between Project Managers and the rest of the company. This role manages critical PMO systems, supports resource allocation, and engages in strategic communication efforts, training initiatives, and leadership meetings to drive continuous improvements in project management practices.

  • Provide a structured framework for project execution, supporting Project Managers with resource allocation, alignment, and overall project tracking.

2. Resource Management

  • Track and allocate resources across projects proactively to optimize support and ensure project success.

  • Monitor workloads, adjust resources based on project demands, and communicate updates to project teams to prevent bottlenecks.

3. System Optimiz ation and Tool Maintenance

  • Oversee PMO systems, including the PMO Database, Planner, PowerAutomate , Power BI, and Forms, maintaining their functionality and efficiency.

  • Keep planning and tracking tools updated, accessible, and aligned with current project needs to support seamless planning and execution.

4. Strategic Communication and Training Initiatives

  • Lead strategic campaigns, such as training sessions and planning workshops, to build company-wide project management capabilities.

  • Develop training materials and resources, delivering sessions that reinforce project management fundamentals and ensure team alignment on best practices.

5. Leadership Engagement and Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Attend leadership meetings, shar e insights and innovative ideas to drive PMO improvements and support high-level decision-making.

  • Collaborate with external departments (e.g., IT, Business Intelligence) to coordinate PMO requests and ensure that projects have integrated support from necessary teams.

6. Quality Checks and 1:1s with Project Managers

  • Conduct one-on-one sessions with Project Managers to review project health, ensure resource sufficiency, and support career development.

  • Perform regular quality checks to confirm that PMs are following best practices and that projects align with PMO standards.

7. Internal PMO Project Oversight

  • Plan and track internal PMO projects, including initiatives like the PMO app, IT assistance , and company-wide training (e.g., GSU All training).

  • Ensure that PMO-specific projects are executed efficiently and contribute to overall project management improvements within the organization.

Lo que necesitas:
  • Licenciatura en Ingeniería en Sistemas de Información o Computación
  • 10 años de experiencia en gestión de programas y proyectos a través del SDLC completo
  • 10+ años de experiencia gestionando implementaciones sistémicas complejas con interdependencias técnicas en toda la organización matricial
  • 5+ años de experiencia en Banca o FinTech, preferiblemente en soluciones e implementaciones a gran escala complejas
  • Habilidades de gestión de personas
  • Capacidad para negociar con C-Levels (internos y externos)
  • Disponibilidad para viajar ocasionalmente (5% de viajes locales en Colombia)


Lo que sería ideal tener (Deseable):

  • Provide training and ongoing development for project teams, equipping them with the methodologies, management tools, and best practices needed to ensure project success and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with PMOs across other regions and business units to share knowledge, exchange best practices, and ensure consistency and alignment with global project management standards.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor´s degree in Engineering, Business administration or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Project Management Officer (PMO) or in similar roles related to project management.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, PMBOK, and PRINCE2.
  • Hands-on experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Trello) and familiarity with ERP and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to analyze data and produce performance reports leveraging tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and others.


Position Requirements

  • Colombian citizenship or work permit.
  • Hybrid role, office based in Bogotá.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (B2).

This application refers to a Project Management Talent Pool from which we will be redirecting candidates into Assistant, Professional, and Senior Professional roles within our company mainly focused on the positions based in Colombia.

Key Activities:

  • Assisting the client Project Manager (PM) as required – including oversight of the overall construction effort
  • Advising at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.
  • Advising upon the procurement of resources.
  • Contract and Budget ownership for direct contracts as assigned
  • Creating and coordinating the detailed Project Execution Plan and coordinating completion of GC PEP activities
  • Proactively managing the risks relating to construction project execution and HES, working with the client PM – coordinating GC actions on risk as necessary and managing the risk register
  • Support the design process, review drawings against project requirements, assess constructability and provide other construction input during early project phases as needed
  • Assist client PM as required in reviewing and reporting on the overall construction effort and progress. Creating and coordinating with the Construction Field Representative, the Monthly, Daily and Event Reporting for the construction team.
  • Coordinating and supporting the RFI and Submittal process, in concert with the cost controller for alignment with cost budgets
  • Creating, coordinating, and issuing effective meeting minutes and other documentation for site progress meetings, Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and other meetings as required
  • Assisting the client PM in overall coordination of the construction effort in support of the effective safety, Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC), and labor relations programs which meet IIF and OE objectives
  • Help to establish the success criteria of the project, including time, cost, technical, and quality performance parameters. Key focus is on the tactical, technical and process delivery of the project
  • Identify and support that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health, and environmental issues
  • In concert with client, support development of contractor and overall purchasing strategy. Responsible for execution of defined strategy.
  • Act as project schedule owner (or in support of project scheduler, if relevant), and maintain schedule at the level required to track critical actions and milestones.
  • Conduct kick-off and regular meetings with key project stakeholders (architects, engineers, suppliers, contractors) to track and report on progress
  • Working with the other project function teams, reviewing as-built documents and other closeout items.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in construction.
  • Engineering or Architecture degree.
  • Proven track record as a Lead Project Manager, a specialist in performance measurement and analysis and delivering successful solutions for clients.
  • PMI certification is a plus.
  • Commercial project experience, ideally with warehouse building, retail store, shopping center.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, to conduct meetings, create reports, and do presentations, etc.

  • Createand maintainproject documentation and best practices according to the SAP Activate Methodology.
  • Supportschedule and budget management at the project level.
  • Providecentralized support for risks, issues, and cost management in financials tools.

What you bring:

Education:

  • Must be a recent Graduate of a bachelor’s degree
  • Preferably not exceeding 2 years from graduation

Requirements and Experience:

About the team

The Project Management Officer is a role that will support the MCLAC North project managers and be part of the PMO Team.

As an SAP Next Gen, you will support the project KPIs and administration of development strategic financial plans.

This role will focus on activities related to support project manager activities, planning, controlling and tracking of variables that are vital for the project progress and therefore for the organization. It will also oversee the administration of different processes inside the area that are crucial for the consecution of the business objectives.
