What you will do

  • You will serve as a point of contact for clients, engaging them routinely - in both English and Spanish - and ensuring they have an excellent experience with the firm. This will mean sending emails and making phone calls daily to respond to client inquiries and to seek information and documents from them as we manage their cases.
  • You will effectively be the main point of contact for clients with the firm. You must bring outstanding communication skills and plenty of empathy to bear in handling these important relationships.
  • You will ensure that case development and the broader representation flow smoothly along predefined workflows.
  • You will proactively communicate with your teammates to let them know of any issues or difficulties you are facing in a case, so that we can keep things moving forward.
  • You will not need substantive knowledge of U.S. immigration law, but you must master our standard operating procedures for servicing cases and dealing with clients.

Salary commensurate with experience, but above market norms. Pay may increase quickly if you’re a great fit for the firm and do an outstanding job.

You will receive three weeks of vacation annually. Additionally, all employees, including those based outside the United States, are off work on all U.S. federal holidays (11). Essential Job Functions:
Legal support duties:
• Collaborate with paralegals and attorneys in preparing affordable real estate development corporate and transaction documents.
• Prepare professional, error-free letters, memoranda, and email correspondence, for internal or external circulation in hard/soft copy.
• Greet and interact with clients with the utmost professionalism, ensuring that they feel comfortable and welcomed, both in person in the office and over the telephone.
• Support the practice of attorneys by learning how they prefer to interact and communicate internally and externally, their preferred work style and their methods of organization.
• File documents in the firm’s document management system, maintaining completeness and organization by complying with internal document naming conventions and filing policies and procedures.
• Maintain attorney calendars, noting deadlines and due dates on incoming correspondence, and advising attorney well in advance of pending deadlines.
• Make travel arrangements, schedule appointments, answer telephones, and perform other similar administrative duties.
• Process attorney expense reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain attorney files on bar memberships, dues, and CLE requirements.
• Assist and collaborate with attorneys in drafting, proofreading, and executing legal documents including real estate documents and corporate formation documents, including:
• Order and file organizational documents with various government offices.
• Create business entities with state government offices.
• Compare documents using Litera or other document comparison software.
• Under the direction of an attorney, prepare and organize closing documents and assist in the execution of the documents, including:
• Draft and maintain closing checklists.
• Create binders and CDs of closing transcriptions/documents.
• Organize and maintain client files, filing relevant documents in the electronic database system within 24 hours of receipt.
• Draft necessary correspondence with clients keeping them informed about the latest developments regarding their matter, and sending across necessary documents via e-mail, fax or post.
• Review invoices to assure they are appropriate and work with the accounting clerk to assist in prompt payments and prompt recording of client expenses.
• Maintain good working relationships with all members of the office team, assisting others as necessary in support of the goals of the whole firm.
• Interface and maintain good working relationships with outside vendors, including IT support.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Administrative management support duties:
• Participate in performing administrative tasks shared by the entire staff including answering the main telephone lines and serving as back-up Legal Assistant for other staff members.

Position Purpose

We are a fast-growing immigration law firm looking for a legal assistant to help review FOIA and court records to help our clients identify what potential immigration paths might be available to them. This position will work closely with our attorney and record collection teams. The ideal candidate will be skilled at creating focused summaries from large amounts of information and creating thoughtful strategies based on that information for attorney review. The ideal candidate will be excited to learn more about immigration law, be goal-oriented, be able to follow detailed instructions and be motivated to help our clients obtain documents and stay united with their families. Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00pm EST (40 hours per week)

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  1. Perform legal, factual research and analyze case documents
  2. Coordinate with the record collection team to identify and obtain relevant records
  3. Analyze and summarize FBI background check requests, USCIS, OBIM, CPB, EOIR, and other similar records, as well as court documents
  4. Draft summaries of key records received and proposal for the path forward based on records for attorney review
  5. Perform legal and factual research
  6. Background in legal assistance or immigration law is a plus
  7. Familiarity with Immigration FOIA requests and U.S. court records preferred
  8. Experience working in law-related roles in the past is a plus!
  9. Experience in using legal database software

Minimum Qualifications

Descripción Del Trabajo

Buscamos personal automotivado que nos ayude a llevar nuestro creciente número de casos de **Personal Injury**. Desempeñarás un papel integral para garantizar que nuestros clientes reciban el máximo nível de atención desde el registro del caso hasta el acuerdo.

**Responsabilidades**:

- Proporcionar apoyo legal a los abogados de lesiones personales y a otro personal paralegal.
- Ayudar con la redacción, revisión y presentación de reclamaciones de todo tipo, incluyendo registros médicos, mociones, descubrimiento y documentos de liquidación.
- Preparar archivos de casos de varias fuentes, no limitados solamente a expedientes de la corte, documentos de juicios, juicios con jurado, audiencias y procedimientos de arbitraje.
- Mantener la confidencialidad del cliente a través de la documentación adecuada y mantener buenas relaciones de trabajo con los clientes, abogados y compañías de seguros.

Habilidades y cualificaciones:

- Profundo conocimiento de la gestión de casos de **lesiones personales**:

- Transmite confianza al teléfono
- Auto-motivado y dispuesto a aportar nuevas ideas al equipo de liderazgo
- Demostrar habilidades de comunicación excepcionales
- Dominio de Microsoft Office e introducción de datos en bases de datos
- Capaz de mantener relaciones profesionales a través de excelentes habilidades interpersonales
- Experiência trabajando con **personal injuries**
