About Grotto Digital
We're a fast-growing email marketing agency helping e-commerce brands unlock revenue and retention through email and SMS. Our clients trust us not just to send emails, but to improve performance month after month. We're looking for a smart, proactive team member who loves both the strategy (analyzing data, spotting opportunities, making things perform better) and the execution (getting client-approved campaigns live in Klaviyo).
The Role
As our Email Marketing Strategist & Klaviyo Specialist, you'll own the bridge between strategy and execution. You'll work closely with our designers, copywriters, and account managers to ensure seamless delivery. Your mission is to:
- Ensure flawless delivery of client-approved campaigns and flows in Klaviyo.
- Analyze data and results to uncover insights, propose new A/B tests, and help clients get better outcomes.
- Support account managers with reporting, testing strategies, and optimization ideas.
- Set up data integrations with client accounts (Shopify, SMS platforms, analytics tools).
- This is a hybrid role: you'll start with more execution work (uploading client-approved campaigns, setting up flows, building popups), and gradually shift into a strategist role as we hire additional team members.
Key Responsibilities
Execution (initial focus: ~60%)
- Upload and build client-approved email campaigns from designers into Klaviyo.
- Set up flows, pop-up forms, and automations in Klaviyo using approved copy and design from our team.
- QA/test emails for links, and design consistency.
- Create weekly and monthly performance reports for clients using our internal tools and AI-powered analytics.
Strategy & Optimization
(long-term focus: ~40% and growing)
- Analyze campaign and flow performance, A/B tests, and popup data using our software stack.
- Recommend clear next steps to improve client results (e.g. winner selection, new test proposals, optimization opportunities).
- Work closely with account managers to prioritize tests and communicate insights to clients.
- Keep up with best practices and new features in Klaviyo/email marketing.
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Client-approved emails and flows get launched on time, without issues.
- Clear, actionable insights are shared with account managers every week.
- You proactively suggest ways to improve performance (not just "report numbers").
- You leverage our internal tools, AI, and software efficiencies to maximize productivity.
- Over time, you evolve into a strategist role with less execution work as the team expands.
Requirements
- 1–3 years experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or related role.
- Hands-on Klaviyo experience (flows, campaigns, popups).
- Comfort with data analysis & A/B testing: you can interpret results and make recommendations.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple client accounts at once.
- Strong written communication: able to explain insights clearly and professionally.
- Proactive mindset: you don't wait for tasks; you find ways to add value.
- Tech-savvy: comfortable using software tools, AI assistants, and internal systems for efficiency.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with design and copy teams in an agency setting.
- Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
- Past agency experience or multi-client management.
- Experience with productivity tools, automation software, or AI-powered analytics.
What We Offer
- Fully remote role with flexible working hours.
- Opportunity to grow into a senior strategist role as the agency scales.
- Direct impact on exciting e-commerce brands.
- A supportive, collaborative, fast-moving team environment with cutting-edge tools and systems.
This is not a "set and forget" role.
We're looking for someone who loves digging into numbers, testing ideas, and improving results while efficiently executing campaigns using our streamlined processes and tools.
About Our Vision
Grotto Digital is a year-old company in a fast-growing environment where team members have real opportunities for promotion and growth into management positions. We work exclusively with US e-commerce brands that are changing the world for the better, and we're passionate about supporting their missions through exceptional email marketing. Our tight-knit team enjoys working and growing together in this dynamic space.
Beyond our luxury marketing services, we're also building and shipping software tools like our popular Grotto Slice to improve efficiencies for other email marketing agencies.
We're AI-forward and excited to expand our premium marketing services while simultaneously developing AI-powered software tools that make effective email marketing more accessible to brands who can't afford a full-service luxury team.
Join us as we scale both sides of our business and make a meaningful impact in the email marketing world.
