Experiencia mínima de 5 años
Manejo del ETAP para cálculos eléctricos (Corto circuito, flujo de carga, coordinación de protecciones, arco eléctrico y malla de tierra)
Amplio conocimiento en la especificación técnica de grandes conjuntos de motores/generadores incluyendo switchgear de alta tensión, transformadores, arrancadores y sistemas de protección eléctrica asociados.
Manejo de programas de Iluminación, específicamente Dialux.
Conocimiento avanzado de la Normas NTC 2050, RETIE, RETILAP. Además de las normas internacionales NFPA 70(NEC National Electric Code), NFPA 70E, IEEE y ANSI.

Realizar levantamientos de campo

How You’ll Make an Impact The Electrical Reliability Engineer (Engineer II) will design, analyze, and support a wide variety of projects including those for battery energy storage systems (BESS), Electrical Vehicle (EV) charging stations and photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role focuses on electrical system design, equipment selection, and integration of energy storage technology into new or existing electrical infrastructure. You will work with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop engineering plans, perform calculations, prepare technical documentation, and ensure all deliverables meet project, client, and industry requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, energy storage technologies, EV charging systems, and applicable codes and standards for power systems. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and analyses, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
  • Develop system layouts, single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment specifications for energy storage systems.
  • Support preparation of design documents, technical reports, and project specifications.
  • Assist with equipment selection, procurement support, and review of vendor drawings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, utilities, and permitting agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in quality control reviews and incorporate feedback into project deliverables.
  • May support construction and commissioning teams by answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site visits as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and regulatory changes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering experience, with at least 1 year in electrical design for power systems, renewable energy, or energy storage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Active Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems design, including one-line diagrams and system studies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NFPA, UL, and IEC.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, construction, and client teams to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with battery energy storage systems, including sizing, specification, and integration with inverters and control systems.
  • Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, or similar electrical modeling tools.
  • Experience coordinating with utilities, AHJs, and permitting agencies for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Compensation: $80,000-$9 ,000 annually*

  • *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. A+S is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / Designer to join our team. At least 5 years of MEP design experience is required, and the salary is $75K - $95K depending on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs full design of lighting, power, and fire alarm systems, including full equipment selection, for small to medium commercial projects.
  • Analyzes system options and evaluates existing systems where appropriate.
  • Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within A+S and externally with clients.
  • Completes full design in accordance with code. Production is performed using AutoCAD & Revit depending on preference of architect.
  • Writes Specifications.
  • Provides bid and construction phase services including reviewing bids, answering RFI's, reviewing shop drawings, participating in project walk throughs and providing field observation reports.

At Hatch Medellín, we’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our PDG team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience
  • Proficient in ETAP for electrical calculations (short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, arc flash, and grounding grid)
  • Strong knowledge in technical specifications for large motor/generator assemblies, including high-voltage switchgear, transformers, starters, and associated electrical protection systems
  • Experience with lighting design software, especially Dialux
  • Advanced knowledge of NTC 2050, RETIE, RETILAP, and international standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, and ANSI
  • Advanced English level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys
  • Support project managers with cost estimates and project planning
  • Develop design criteria and engineering deliverables (calculations, technical specifications, data sheets, construction drawings, etc.)
  • Review diagrams and drawings to ensure compliance with engineering designs
  • Perform calculations, build mathematical models, and analyze results
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions

About The Role

We’re hiring a detail-oriented and technically strong Electrical Engineer to support complex building systems projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, specify, and troubleshoot electrical systems—particularly in the context of HVAC and controls.

If you have 3-5 years of experience and enjoy working on technically challenging systems with a highly collaborative team, this is a great opportunity to grow your impact within the building engineering and automation space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review electrical schematics, control wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
  • Develop and validate sequences of operation for HVAC and building systems
  • Specify electrical components (e.g., relays, circuit protection, transformers, power supplies) for procurement
  • Provide technical support during system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate closely with controls programmers and commissioning teams to ensure system functionality
  • Document and maintain design standards and operational specifications
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, ideally in HVAC, building automation, or related MEP industries
  • Strong understanding of control systems, electrical schematics, and component selection
  • Experience working with engineering drawings and panel layouts
  • Solid troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based or international HVAC/building system projects
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or related MEP design tools
  • Understanding of U.S. electrical standards (NEC, UL, etc.) is a plus
  • Based in Colombia or LATAM, with stable internet and availability for overlap with U.S. Eastern Time

Objetivo:

Responsabilizarse por la realización y asignación de trabajos de ingeniería complejos o con alto nivel de dificultad, debido a su capacidad, conocimiento avanzado, especialización y experiencia en el dominio de una o múltiples áreas de la ingeniería y de su disciplina en particular, además de otro tipo de productos y sistemas. Con habilidad y capacidad de liderazgo para dirigir pequeños grupos en proyectos o equipos de trabajo.

Responsabilidades:

  • Tener más de 10 años de experiencia relevante en la disciplina y un conocimiento y comprensión competente de las regulaciones, códigos, estándares de diseño y fabricación, y prácticas estándar de la industria. Adicionalmente, debe tener conocimientos sólidos en la estimación de los costos de un proyecto y la redacción de contenidos de propuestas.
  • Tener experiencia en la realización de ingenierías conceptuales, básicas y detalladas de proyectos de la industria (Oil & Gas, Minería, Infraestructura, entre otros).
  • Tomar decisiones responsables para la definición del curso de entregables de ingeniería, dibujo y modelamiento. Las decisiones difíciles, complejas o inusuales se remitirán al Gerente de Ingeniería o al Gerente de la disciplina locales.
  • Trabajar de forma autónoma permitiendo la planificación y organización de tareas en proyectos asignados, propias y de los integrantes de su equipo, en caso de dirigir uno.
  • Realizar sus funciones con base en una interacción y orientación técnica autoiniciada con el supervisor (gerente de la disciplina), para posteriormente influenciar sobre los objetivos y deberes de su equipo.
  • Recibir, gestionar y llevar a cabo asignaciones relacionadas con proyectos de ingeniería con objetivos y prioridades específicas, considerando las áreas críticas que pueden afectar el trabajo de otras unidades. Puede ser supervisor de actividades o también tener supervisión para determinación de precisión, integridad y cumplimiento de los objetivos.
  • Trabajar en equipos de hasta 10 personas que le reportan directamente, ya sea participando o liderando, y que pueden estar conformados por ingenieros y diseñadores de la misma disciplina, pero podrían incluir un tamaño total mucho mayor que considere un apoyo coordinado. Puede tener autoridad para las evaluaciones de desempeño que afectan el salario de otros profesionales.
  • Mantener una comunicación constante y efectiva con el equipo de trabajo, para informar y persuadir sobre asuntos complejos y problemas a través de la preparación y entrega de propuestas, presentaciones e informes, así como la colaboración con las partes interesadas y la gerencia de la disciplina.
  • Ser competente en el uso de herramientas como Microsoft 365 y Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point y Teams). Puede navegar por las páginas de la intranet, realizar búsquedas y recuperar información. Puede organizar información de múltiples fuentes y retenerla según el formato y las políticas establecidas.
  • Trabajar de manera competente y eficiente en herramientas de diseño especializado, análisis y modelado, y métodos centrados en datos interdisciplinarios.
  • Construir relaciones apropiadas, constructivas y efectivas en toda la organización; usar la diplomacia y el tacto, ser accesible, comunicarse con claridad, precisión y coherencia tanto verbalmente como por escrito. Emplear los principios de la escucha activa y fomentar la retroalimentación desde y hacia los demás.
  • Trabajar en un equipo con visibilidad para las partes interesadas en altos niveles, ser capaz de trabajar y vincularse con múltiples equipos y partes interesadas, ser capaz de priorizar las cargas de trabajo y ayudar a otros miembros del equipo a lograr sus objetivos.
