Role overview
As a Network Engineer at Ilkari, you will be part of the team responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining our network infrastructure. This is a hands-on position based at our data centre in Tocancipá, Colombia. You'll work closely with experienced engineers to ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and high-performing. It's an excellent opportunity to deepen your networking knowledge while supporting key infrastructure projects.
What you'll do
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, access points, and routers.
- Monitor network health and proactively troubleshoot issues such as latency, packet loss, routing problems, and VPN connectivity.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including device configs, IP allocations, and network diagrams.
- Participate in the planning and execution of network changes, upgrades, and migrations.
- Manage VLANs, routing tables, ACLs, NAT rules, and firewall policies (primarily with Palo Alto Networks).
- Support day-to-day operations, including end-user connectivity issues and network incidents.
- Assist in automating network tasks using tools like Ansible and Python.
- Implement and follow operational procedures and security standards.
- Collaborate with peers across engineering and infrastructure to deliver resilient and scalable solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to incident response activities when needed.
What are we looking for
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure operations.
- Entry to mid-level certifications (e.g. CCNA, PCNSA, CompTIA Network+).
- Solid knowledge of network protocols and technologies: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, subnetting.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, including Panorama and GlobalProtect.
- Familiarity with Unifi or other enterprise Wi-Fi solutions.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking.
- Comfortable with physical network setups, structured cabling, and racking equipment.
- Proficiency with network tools such as Wireshark, traceroute, and NMAP.
- Proficiency with automation/scripting in Python, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, or similar).
- Very good problem-solving skills, open mind towards suggestions, can-do attitude, and agile mindset.
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor WeWork network, servers, Nutanix environment, and cloud infrastructure via Zabbix and other tools.
- Perform initial triage of network incidents and escalate to WeWork’s Network Support team through approved channels (email, Slack, ITSM).
- Provide L1–L3 support for server, Nutanix, AWS, storage, and related systems.

- Commission/decommission servers, appliances, network devices as per WeWork leadership guidance.
- Manage server configurations (CPU, RAM, Disk, GPO updates) and perform OVA installations.
- Resolve RDP and various remote connectivity protocol issues, conduct server log analysis, and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Troubleshooting and IAS log analysis for RADIUS and NPS issues.
- NPS Policy administration and auditing.
- Monthly patching and upgrades for Nutanix, AWS, and server environments.
- Address and resolve issues from penetration tests related to server infrastructure.
- User & Security Management
- Manage Domain Users, Service Accounts, and Security Groups.
- Handle user access requests and troubleshoot access issues.
- Infrastructure Management
- Manage ~128 server instances, 16 Nutanix services, and monitor 60 network devices.
- Monthly patching for key services (Radius, PowerBI, Alteryx, UIPath, SMTP, OKTA, Domain Controllers, etc.).
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP (Infoblox planned), SMTP, and Revit Licensing Servers.
- Manage ESXi and Nutanix clusters (hardware/software).
- Wi-Fi Device Administration
- Perform configuration and patches to Ruckus, Juniper Mist, and Cisco Wi-Fi devices following WeWork’s change management process.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain system documentation and process guides.
- Monitor and manage ticket queues; update and resolve tickets per SLA.
- Provide quarterly effort utilization reports and participate in scope reviews.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Systems and Network Engineering.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools (Zabbix), Nutanix, AWS, Active Directory, and network device management.
- Experience with Ruckus, Juniper Mist, and Cisco Wi-Fi device configuration and patching.
- Strong Cisco and Juniper networking and network security experience is essential.

The Level 3 Network Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
- Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.

Eligibility Requirements and Support Level
- Must be at least a graduate of 4-year IT related course or degree program.
- Must have obtained at least forty (40) hours technical training related to computer networking within the last three (3) years
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience in providing first level network support for wired and/or wireless LAN
- Must have background in Cisco Network Device configuration, , basic Fortinet and/or Check Point Firewall configuration and management, VMware ESXi and vCenter configuration and management, Network Monitoring (e.g. Zabbix) and other IT Service Management Tools, and Physical Troubleshooting of Network Devices
- Must be trained and knowledgeable in the management and operations of the Cisco DNA Center and ISE solutions that will be deployed.
- Must be a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

Project Summary:
We’re partnering with a major brand on a large-scale network deployment involving approximately 500 sites, running through the end of 2025. We’re seeking skilled and independent Senior Network Engineers to join a compact, high-performing team (3–4 members). This position is fully remote and will focus on providing real-time support for the installation and troubleshooting of network systems, mainly across hotel properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote technical support during the installation of Mikrotik gateways and other networking equipment.
- Coordinate with onsite installation teams, local service providers (LSPs), hotel staff, and the broader tech team.
- Troubleshoot escalated issues, address real-time configuration queries, and resolve network-related problems.
- Offer expert-level guidance on routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
- Ensure smooth deployment and integration across various networking environments and hardware.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering with the ability to work autonomously after initial onboarding.
- Strong proficiency with Mikrotik equipment and working knowledge of at least one of the following:
- Ruckus, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Palo Alto, Nomadix, Antlabs, or Ubiquiti.
- Deep understanding of RADIUS protocol and core networking components, including SD-WAN, LAN/WAN/WLAN, and cloud infrastructures.
- Experience working in both public and private cloud environments.
- CCNP certification is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.

The Senior Network Engineer supports and manages the Acronis network and VoIP infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud.
The role is critical in ensuring continuous uptime of the network infrastructure and safeguarding its security.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement and maintain the network infrastructure to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations
- Responsible for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting and proactively resolving issues
- Collaborate with Security team to ensure security of the network
- Coordinate with ISPs on issues with network services
- Maintain the VoIP infrastructure and process any change requests
- Managing remote access and site-to-site VPN
- Managing networking for virtualization clusters (Virtuozzo, oVirt)
- Managing networking for Cloud computing (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- At least 5-7 years as a network engineer/administrator
- Knowledge of network design principles and telecommunications technologies
- Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack
- Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols, e.g. BGP, OSFP
- Experience with switches/routers/firewalls from various enterprise vendors (Juniper, Mikrotik, Aruba, Cisco, etc.)
- Experience with client-based remote access VPN, e.g. Cisco AnyConnect based on Cisco Firepower platform
- Experience with network design and implementation of NAT/VLAN/xSTP/LACP/ACL/QoS/GRE over IPsec/VRF-lite/VRRP/PBR, RADIUS, SNMP, Netflow
- Experience with network monitoring, logging and alerting (Zabbix/Loki)
- Experience with IPAM (Netbox)
- Experience with network virtualization (oVirt/Virtuozzo)
- Experience with Cloud networking (Azure/GCP/AWS)
- Basic knowledge of VoIP technologies/protocols (SIP, H.323)
- Linux OS experience with knowledge in Linux Shell, DNS (BIND9), DHCP (KEA) and nftables/iptables
- Knowledge in BGP Anycast implementation
- Experience in implementing/managing Teams Phone
- Experience in IPv6 implementation/transition
- NetOps experience (Git, Ansible, Python)

Network Engineer II
Job Description
Provide first level support on both network outages and network-related projects. You will be accountable for daily network activities, such as those related to incident and change management, to ensure end user requests are handled and addressed within defined SLAs. You will report to the Network Engineering Team
**Requirements**
+ 5+ years of experience in Networking (LAN/ WAN & Security)
+ Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Engineering required; Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet Certifications FCNSA, FCNSP and ITIL preferred.
+ Demonstrable experience with Cisco Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Fortigate UTM and implementation experience of these devices. in .NET web framework 4.0 & 4.5 and object-oriented programming required.
+ Deep knowledge with proven expertise of Cisco, Fortigate, Brocade networking products, Load balancers, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, UTMs , Wifi(Cisco/Fortinet/Aruba), maintaining and troubleshooting
+ Expertise in networking concepts such as IPLCs, Leased Lines, MPLS, TI/T3/ E1, VoIP, VPN tunnels etc.
+ Proficient configuring WAN links, VLANs and protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, OSPF, BGP, RIP etc.
+ Solid background in network security compulsions from the desktop level to the network gateway and perimeter level6y76y
+ Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP etc. and security mechanisms such as IPSec/AES/3DES/SSL
**Responsibilities**
+ Provide 24x7 L1 network operational support of existing network, capacity planning, conduct infrastructure audits, configure security policies/VPNs
+ Provide troubleshooting support to maintain all network systems and monitor them proactively to ensure that production downtime is minimized and SLAs are achieved
+ Conduct InfoSec activities and ID management of Voice devices on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to ensure that all devices are compliant with zero deviations per the InfoSec calendar
+ Execute day-to-day network activities as part of Incident management and Change management processes to ensure end users requests are handled and addressed within the defined SLA's
+ Proactively evaluate new and emerging technologies and suggest ways to add value to the existing infrastructure
+ Author and deliver network related documentation
+ Ensure an effective communication process is in place with all the stakeholders including vendors, server, voice and desktop support teams
